but the actual military is way more disciplined & trained & not-distorted by a corrupt union. And the military is more racially-integrated, with far less income inequality-- than the civilian communities surrounding the military-- both within the US & overseas-- in wartime & in peace.
'Militarize the police' would be a shorter route to better policing... especially with the uniform federal oversight & funding & control the protesters want.

I don't think it is about spirituality. It is because I support the idea that there are foundation ethics. My ethical model lines up better with most Catholics than with most atheists. Honesty, restraint, forgiveness, hard work, self-sufficiency , frugality, duty, family.... etc. It is just what I believe because it works for me. I really don't have a better explanation. Listened to all of it. Mostly interesting. John Wood seems to have the highest verbiage to idea ratio. At the end Brett was trying to get them all to agree to backing his Unity2020 idea, but no one took the bait. Also at the end hey disagreed with Brett's idea that more money for schools (for example) would improve outcomes. They've been throwing gobs of money at schools since before I started going to school, and the schools have just been going steadily downhill the entire time. The call for even more money is on par with the barber-surgeon prescribing even more bleeding because the patient is growing weaker.

Agreed. It is not that expensive to teach someone the basics. It is the attitude of the students, their parents, the teachers and the community that matter.
