i'm no fan of Khan - he's useless on most fronts but I think the fact that funding for police (from Central Govt and Local authorities) has fallen by 20% and police numbers by 20,000 might have something to do with it and stop and search drop has coincided with the increase - and you need coppers in numbers t do that.SM1957 wrote: ↑So unfair. In sort, all of them! Your link has allocation for one year 2019 - hurrah! what about the gradual decrease over the last decade? National Audi Office report (linked below)SM1957 wrote: ↑ Which police forces have had reductions in central funding?

The Police Funding Formula divides up how much money each police force receives from the overall central government funds. It takes into account a number of factors to assess demand in each area.
Earlier this year, the Home Office and police partners engaged on potential changes to the police funding formula. However, in the context of changing demand, the Minister for Policing and the Fire Service Nick Hurd has said that providing funding certainty over the next two years to enable the police to plan in an efficient way is his priority.
Therefore, proposed changes to the funding formula will be revisited at the next Spending Review."
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47558117Funding to police forces - which comes from central government and council tax - fell by 19% in real terms between 2010-11 and 2018-19, according to the National Audit Office.
Officer numbers have fallen by around 20,000 since 2010.

Grania had in the past been a guest writer at B&W and TFA and elsewhere, but I see no other mentions of her death.
I always misread her name as 'Granule Sprinkles'. I only knew her through her writing, but it sounds like she was beloved by those who knew her personally. She also was a bona fide, hardworking, down-to-earth social justice activist, as opposed to the pretentiously 'woke', posturing, keyboard warriors.KiwiInOz wrote: ↑That is sad. 49 is too fucking young. I've defended Robinson a few times on here as essentially I think at times he's the only one who speaks up about very important issues that most politicians just won't touch with a ten foot pole but even I have to admit that the man does himself no favours at times.ThreeFlangedJavis wrote: ↑ Or rocks at Robinson, in which case "Tommy Robinson involved in violence again".
