Once upon a time a guy had about 6 computers in his house . All the computers shared the same internet connection. He didn't live alone and other people used his computers too. Everyone who lived in the house thought PZ Myers was a dick. All the people who thought PZ was a dick posted stuff on the internet. This confused some individuals (pz myers and his groupies) but they didn't need to be confused they just needed to maybe realize they don't know everything . What I was mentioning about her had nothing to do with PZ at all. It was definitely not a visiting the sins sort of thing. It purely was about something she wrote unconnected at all to PZ. I only criticized her in regards to her own stuff, not the unfortunate fact that she has him as a father. I'm not sure that people are realizing this.

As to what she wrote about, if it is the same thing I think it is, for the most part I consider it a victimless crime (assuming any discomfort felt is by the perpetrator).

I noticed recently that Germany has/is making steps to ban it.

Way back I was doxed by right-wing lunatics and people associated with The Project for an Old American Century and Ben Burch, whose postings were apparently used by super-genius Greg Laden for another round of the same.

The problem I had with Burch was his doxing a complete idiot who was head of the Concerned Women for America and his plans to picket her fucking house.

One thing lead to another, he paid to dig into my shit and then he croissed the line big time.

I replied to him that, again, I was sorry I had posted his information, that I didn't want to hurt him, and that had I really wanted to hurt him I would have posted all of the information in the dossier I had purchased, including his wife's name, employer, ethnicity (she was born in a foreign land), etc, but I would never have done that, and couldn't we please bury the hatchet?

By that point I interpreted that "I could dox your wife too, but of course I wouldn't do that, so you better be my friend and stop complaining about my other doxing operations " as a big pile of passive aggressive horseshit. I basically told him that he wasn't going to dox my wife because if he did I would hunt him down and cut his heart out, a credible threat if there ever was one.

Of course, my wife didn't need protection from the likes of Burch. She was a graduate of Beijing University and The People's Liberation Army, so she was smarter and tougher than he could ever dream of being. She got her MA at Johns Hopkins and now works on K St. for an LLC and is pretty much the definition of "can take care of herself". Her family has money in steel and her uncle is the equivalent of a general in the Red Army and so she is the last person you would want to fuck with anyway. Good luck extraditing the person who broke your legs.

I don't know how much the stress of all this sort of shit played into my divorce, but it had to be a factor. That's one reason why I no longer care. I have nothing I fear losing. Doxing effected my life, my work and all not because I had anything to be ashamed of (that they knew of), but because the sort of people who dox are also the sort of people who tend not to stick to the truth when making accusation.

When people dox it's never to make someone take personal responsibility, there is always an aspect of "well, I think your employer, friends, family and dog should know what you are up to, most of which I will make up". In other words, blackmail. Of course, it's usually not the doxer per se who does the dirty work, it's some minor minion or random asshole who now has access.

I think Brownian is a total shit, but assuming he lives in his mom's basement (figuratively or otherwise), his mother didn't buy into whatever annoyance would come from releasing any personal information, including his name.
