Everywhere the SJW go, we should 'join' in and immediately start linking SJW causes to our "other causes": chemtrails, anti-vaccine, anti-floridation... let's get some intersectionality with racism and homeopathy. Sexism caused 9/11 (the inside job), etc.

I bet one category of nutter would get along just fine with the others. It would also serve as a warning sign to people new to the arguments.

Hey man, you and everyone else* have been a great help in every way possible.

I have spent the day applying for things online. I have a pretty decent job interview lined up tomorrow. About to go out and pretend I don't have diabetes and get some frozen pizza.

I don't know who abear is (Parsehole?) but I thought s/he'd been kickbanned from FTB ages ago.
I am abear. Despite my rude ejection from Pharyngula. Ophie's, Greta's, En Tequila es Sobredad, Hyena's Dealings, and Brute Reason (not sure if I'm missing any) there still are some FTB blogs I can comment on. I wasn't banned from Miri's or Dana Hunter's blogs for naughty behavior, I guess that they borrowed from Ophie's ban list.
I had Sally Strange and Great American Satan stalking me and when they saw me posting at Heina's blog they convinced her that I was an awful troll and got her to ban me. :( I guess she just didn't have the backbone to defy a directive from the Matriarchy.

She dropped out when she started doing YouTube videos full-time. I think her "I'm not crazy" tagline comes from this.

I'm guessing she did the Playboy shoot to raise her profile, with the money being secondary or not a factor at all. I assume she's going to try to transition her channel to more of a lifestyle focus than A/S issues based. She's kind of shot her wad with regards to the latter, as her videos have been very nondescript for a while. I no longer bother with them. She knows most of the big-money female YouTube stars have a lifestyle focus, with varying measures of titillation on the side.

That is less than half of what thunderf00t does for his science videos. Their you tube audiences are approximately equal. She doesn't have embedded ads either. She is more attractive. Speaks rather well. Has a decent sense of humor (but I wouldn't exactly call her a comedic talent). She has a smart sense of social acuity. Her speaking voice might be fine for youtube videos, but it might be a tad too high pitched for something like say the anchor of a news broadcast or longer duration.

Her content is mostly opinions and social commentary, which is fine for a youtube channel. But opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one, so I don't consider that a huge money maker. That doesn't require special knowledge or skills on her part. Her hop into playboy has only pulled in approximately 500 additional youtube viewers since this morning.

I don't know. If she wants to make a living out of this, she would do well to get a decent mentor to help guide her in a direction. She appears to have raw talent, but that only gets you so far. Unless of course she is hoping to break into modeling.

Headmistress found guilty of "indecent assault" (because rape is what men do) after having sex with boys as young as 13. No mention of the word "pedophile" in any article (which is unusual considering the Daily Mail once used it to describe an 18 year old male who had sex with a 15 year old girl)

Someone sure shot their wad but I'm not certain it was Jaclyn.

You and deLurch do this on purpose, don't you?
What? Sure. I tied Jaclyn up, and forced her to do a photo shoot for playboy, by starving her for food and telling her that if she wants to eat, she will have to earn it.

On an odd note, it appears I cannot take credit for her doing this. Someone else was in fact pushing Jaclyn to do porn. Too bad there is no date stamp that I can see on the tumblr blog.

Dave asked:
HEY! How do you get a card? When I joined the Patriarchy, all I got was this top hat and walking stick. Granted, the latter is damn handy for beating the ladies with.
Well first, I got my CRA, Certified Rape Apologist diploma from the Pharyngula baboon house, then...
This is a true story: Last year I was renting out a cabin, water view, 100 yards from the beach, low traffic, nice neighborhood, $500 a month.
I got a request from a woman blogger that would have been interested in seeing the place if I knocked $100 off the rent and payed her to do the yard work (the yard is mostly natural plants and trees, no lawn). I answered " Sorry, not interested".
I didn't ask what type of blog she wrote, but by her communications I suspected she might be an SJW. If so that should have been good enough to get a patriarchy card.

It hurts. I don't know if it hurts a lot or a little or just the correct amount. I can walk on it pretty well but still can't run. I am about to carry things but that causes a lot of pain.

I was told that there would be pain and that it's normal and I still have about ten months of healing before it's suppose to be close to normal again.

At this point I just accept the constant nagging ache and get on with life. It's not even a thing.

I feel really bad for Phil because I can just imagine the road ahead he has getting better.

Well, she may have similar good looks to me ( :) ), but I like my men a lot older than she does.

Feminists piss me off with their pedo-pologetics. Shit like defending this headmistress who fucked underage kids, and did it while in a position of authority over them (to add a bit of salt to the wound), and things like the original Vagina Monologues where they claimed the lesbian rape of a 13 year old was a "good rape". There was a slight bit of outrage so they changed the script to make it a 15 year old girl instead. Imagine if the sex of the rapists were reversed. Feminists would have shut that show down so fast and probably made sure the headmaster was jailed. But it's ok when women rape. That's a "good rape".

She offered that, presumably to let me know she was unemployed.
I assume she thought that might impress me and compel me to subsidize her for the greater good. That is sort of how folks like Alex Mc Gabriel and company think. They feel that all the whiny preaching, sniping at people that have actually accomplished something, and droning on about their daddy issues is unfairly undervalued.

I'm guessing 'Martians' or, less formally, 'Mars niggers'

 "Tralfamadorians", to be exact.

But "Martians" is the "non-pejorative correlate" [NPCs for those of us in the know], "Mars niggers" is the slur - oh, why can't the English learn to speak? ....

This is what Melissa McEwan says erased trans* women.
So she's not upset with the implication that white cis-men with penis act this way, she's upset that Oliver implicated transwomen into his sweeping generalization.

"Eye of the beholder" and all that. Laughing at someone slipping on a banana-peel is supposedly, in the view of some, the paradigmatic expression of humour. But that seems to depend, rather heavily, on whether one is the laugher, or the laughee - so to speak.

I'm still impressed with mental gymnastics required to say Oliver is erasing trans* women though he featured Brianna Wu because Wu isn't really a trans* women so long as she remains publicly in the closet. A true exemplar of mindkill, crimestop, doublethink.

(Yes I am a cis* man who thinks Wu is facially and factually a trans* woman)

And usage/connotation can be very regional. I didn't know Paki was offensive until my twenties. Its a UK thing, primarily, I think. But I wouldn't use it now. No way.
While I'll agree that it is "complex and subtle" how such words are interpreted as "super-offensive" (mirror-neurons ...), I think it is, generally or frequently speaking, simply wrong to do so. Seems to me that your very claim that it is "very regional" shows that it is quite subjective, that there's no objective truth involved, that the connotation of such insults isn't necessarily anything close to racist or sexist. Seems to me that it is rather analogous to Cunning Punt's comments about "white knighting":
... but this "white knight" bullshit is annoying. You are assuming you know his motivations for saying what he says, then criticizing that instead of what he's actually fucking saying.
If people wish to hear or interpret such comments as racist or sexist that's their problem; rather untenable, at best, to insist that their interpretation should then be someone else's problem as well. Bloody arrogant if one actually gets right down to it.
No, [it's?] often not arrogant. No, you're often not being thought-policed, like you seem to think you are.
"often" seems the crux of the matter - you think it is so "sometimes"? And seems the question is less one of being "thought-policed" than one of being coerced into a particular mode of behaviour. Rather different kettles of fish methinks.
Couch wrote:[Steers, how do you refer to the indigenous where you're from?
Aboriginals or native Indians with the former seeming to be well within the pale, so to speak, since there's the APTN - the Aboriginal Public Television Network - in this neck of the woods that seems pretty acceptable. Not sure if there's anything equivalent to the Australian "abbo" or "boonga", but I expect there are a few that may or may not have some applicability depending on circumstances. Reminds of having read a book sometime ago on some aboriginal issues here in Canada - "Our Home? Or Native Land?", I think - that included a bit from a routine from an aboriginal comedian who was taking some quite justifiable shots at the relatively high levels of fraud perpetrated by various "Chiefs and Council" on native reserves. Maybe there's an epithet that might be applicable, or maybe one could be coined on the fly - "Scalpers"?
Couch wrote:[What do you think it is acceptable to call indigenous Australians? The casual slurs of my youth are abhorrent to me now; and feel almost unutterable now I know a thing or two about the last 220 years. As a society, our refusal the use or defend those racial epithets and slurs are, in part, a black armband signifying our recognition of the displacement, prejudice and suffering wrought upon a people. But 'Abo' is just an abbreviation of 'Aborigine' you say?
I think you, and no few others - both here and among the FftB Horde (hello Jadehawk) - are completely missing my point - and largely that of Adam Croom. Which is that it you need to differentiate between whether the epithet is targeting an entire group, or merely one member or smallish subset of it. Of course, arguably, the former case qualifies as racism or sexism as the case may be, but decidedly moot, in my humble or not-so-humble opinion, whether that is true in the latter case. Do read Croom and get back to me with a rebuttal - which no one else, with the possible exception of Kirbmarc, has yet managed to do.
Couch wrote:[Fuck off, Cunt (I'll let you can divine what usage of cunt I'm employing here) ;)
:) Oy! I'm cut to the quick - ask of me tomorrow and you'll find me a grave man.

But there again, I think you're engaging in some highly questionable if not actually hypocritical "reasoning". Sure seems to me that the use of "cunt" is analogous to the use of various racist epithets such as "nigger", and "raghead" as each relies on some pejorative connotations associated with personal features or attributes that define or delineate certain subgroups of people: if the first is intrinsically sexist then - mutatis mutandis ("double your word score!") - then the latter two are intrinsically racist; if the first isn't sexist then the latter two aren't racist. Seems to me that "you" can't really have your cake and eat it too.

Women can't be convicted of rape under English Law because the Sexual Offences Act 2003 defines rape as unwanted penetration with a penis:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_Offences_Act_2003

Female rapists are charged with sexual assault which carries a lesser maximum sentence.

I have taken a 2 hour running block of live 911 coverage, determined by working back from the second plane hit when the coverage started in real time, added a timer, compiled a spreadsheet of timed events and calculated their position on the running timer. And then added them as text subscripts to the footage.

It was an interesting way of getting a running sense of all the different events. Just trying to determine when to stop adding '"events".

Another interesting thing someone has done (and relevant on this 200 year anniversary) is this Battle of Waterloo animation on google maps.

Generally speaking, all things being equal, "any fucking time they want". Sure seems to me that that issue is someone stoking the outrage machine, people getting their knickers in a twist over a faux insult to indulge their self-righteousness and haul out the smelling salts after availing themselves of the fainting couch. Maybe you missed Andrew's link to a Wikipedia article on Controversies about the word "niggardly" ("Only in America you say"). Just because some people happen to hear some echoes in one word of another one hardly justifies accusations that the former was actually used and was intended as such.
