Well, they did agree to an open marriage.

We should raise a fund to purchase the services of a really high-class and attractive hooker for Elyse's hubby. I'd bet anything that wrinkled harridan would soon start reconsidering their little open-marriage arrangement.

This, with a side order of the fact that Soviet atrocities were harder to detect and less thoroughly documented than Nazi atrocities.
Also, the Holocaust happened right under the noses of us Europeans (who saw the raids and the Durchgangslager in our own cities) and the American-English invasion force (who liberated the camps), and WWII's history is typically documented by these groups.

No involved conspiracy theory necessary.

Well without her past self being entirely relevant to the conversation no one would know who Caitlyn Jenner was. In fact I think it would be very difficult for some preachies and perhaps SIri to answer the question "who is Caitlyn Jenner" without referring to her former identity.

I love that Nerd of Redhead keeps claiming to be a real scientist.

The dopey old cunt must keep Meyers awake at night, wondering what cretinous bullshit he's going to find Nerd has spewed out onto his website as "science" the next morning.

Not bad, just a couple of hours from receipt until televised nationally on a science program. Technology can be wonderful.

So Gawker just put their foot in their moth and decided to put a bullet in same foot just for good measure...

Short version:

Guy tries to hire gay porn star as a escort.
Guy is not a public figure, not out of the closet but married with a wife and three kids and a nice job as CFO of Conde Nast.
Gay porn star figures out the identity of the guy, and that his brother is an ex Treasury Secretary for Obama.
Gay porn star want to sue his former landlord for discrimination, and decides that the guy should use his vague connection to Obama to help him with this.
Guy bails.

In other words, the only thing this non-public guy actually did was attempt to cheat on his wife with a gay escort - he did not use any political influence to pull any strings, he didn't even actually cheat on his wife or pay for sex, since he bailed...

So what does Gawker do when this blackmailing porn-star comes to them with this story?

Well of course they decide to help this blackmailer! They run the story, outing this in-the-closet guy with full name and picture - even though there's nothing newsworthy about it, the guy isn't a public figure, and didn't really do anything - the only story seem to be Gawker going "LOOK WE FOUND A CHEATING GAY GUY! LETS SHAME HIM!" (though some GGers are speculating that it might be revenge on Conde Nast for firing Pao).

So far, reactions seem to be unanimous disgust from everyone, even other Gawker employes are shaking their heads.

There's bad crazy and good crazy. Elyse is bad crazy. You? That is for you to decide. And us, of course. We're always judging.

No I am cool enough that I don't know any Coldplay sounds.
There's a difference between being cool and being a hermit, mate.
But are you cool enough to know any Cold Chisel?

OMG, never thought I'd see Chisel on the 'Pit. Yay!

I literally bumped into Barnesy coming through the revolving doors at the entrance to Sky City Grand in Auckland last April. I was in Auckland for work and Barnesy was supporting Bruce Springsteen. We nodded.

PS, to all Kiwis (including expats). Auckland has THE BEST food scene of any city's CBD, that I HAVE EVER been to. I was there initially one week, when me and Barnsey got all pal-ly in the revolving door incident - and then for another week a couple of months later (got the wife to meet me over there second time round). And every single place I ate in, from fine-diners, through to pub bistros, to everything in between, had a seriously awesome level of foody-excellence going on.

I spent one memorable afternoon with my wife in this place, getting shit-faced - they match Sakis and Japanese beers with each morsel. Neither of us particularly remember leaving.

Tl;dr - Barney and I are tight as. Auckland does good tucker.

That's more like it. The characters look like how I remember them. :)
It's funny, I don't remember Adam West looking like that. In my mind's eye he looks like a middle-aged man with a beer gut.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, you understand (says the middle-aged man with a...you get the idea)

Make sure to double up on the bubble wrap before you leave your house. You don't want to break your arm when some new disaster hits!

Considering my parents banned TV from our house from 1974 to 1982 incl. (voice of Satan, you know the drill) the fact I know every single frame of the 6MillionDollarMan intro speaks to the power and ubiquity of the U.S. re-run during the second half of the 80s.

I also know every word to 'Believe it or no (I'm walking on Air)', and can flawlessly whistle the intro to the A-team.

Can't believe they published that. Nice to see all the pushback it's getting Gawker, though, even from people who say they usually like it. Interesting role Ted Cruz has had, too, in it.

From twitchy.com's response article:
The beauty of Twitter is that even we don’t have to reward Gawker with a click to find out just what garbage it’s serving its readers that has them so appalled tonight. Journalists in particular are calling out the site for going well beyond the line, and even Gawker senior writer Adam Weinstein has tweeted that he had no part in the piece, nor would he have run it.
etc
