Shit. Phantom eye sounds terrible. I hope this clears up. It sounds pretty annoying. I have never heard of such a problem but it makes perfect sense. Your brain is expecting something. What our mind "sees" is very different from what our eyes "see". There is a lot of autonomous post processing of the signals from the eye.

Life goes on and spring is underway in Michigan. I saw my first yellow goldfinch this morning. Male goldfinches are yellow in the breeding season, but turn light brown in the winter. I believe this means that spring is officially here.

My sister-in-law was moved to a nursing care facility yesterday. She is able to feed herself with her one good arm so things are getting better. One doctor told us she would fully recover. I am skeptical. The diagnosis is that she did not have a clot, which is a common cause of stroke, but that her blood sugar went too high. She is diabetic and doesn't always control her sugar well. She is quite literally addicted to Coke-a-cola. It is one of the only true joys in her life. Unfortunately, sugary drinks are the worst thing for diabetes.

I think it's time the working class followed the example set by some women on women's day and just took a day off. The middle classes could do the same and each group in turn.

We could contrast the days the train drivers, firefighters, shop keepers, cops and garage mechanics took a day off with the days journalists and gender studies lecturers took a day off and see who actually keeps the world running.

We could compare the genuine wage gaps between hospital porters Hollywood superstars.

No but i thought, since there is a couple Canadians here, that one would have bring the Andrew Potter McLean article controversy. I have to admit i was hoping someone would.
