Depends on if they were shot filled "sap gloves" or if they were the kind with plastic knuckle "protectors"
I believe the knuckle protection type are legal.( as they do have legitimate use in everyday life)

The caveat being that anything used for an illegal act can be catagorized once you are charged as a weapon.

There are weighted gloves for exercise too. The ones that are designed for punching I believe often also have foam for the palm/finger interface to make it less likely to injure your fingers when you hit someone. You would probably need to get the gloves before you could charge them.
