Online interactions are only as important and meaningful as offline interactions to people who don't really have all that much offline interaction. This is why I oppose the call for immediate banning. Removing the personal info out of the comment does a better job of dealing with a possible lapse in judgement. If the problem persists and becomes a recurring issue, then we can talk about harsher penalties.
