Thanks, Mudbroker.

Further, since Peez now claims that everyone knew what a perv Krauss was, it means he's forgotten about the time he postured as a skeptic and wouldn't accept evidence that was making Zvan soggy.

At least some American law enforcement know the score.
Re: Fuck off, Jamie!
To view these events purely in terms of their utility to piss off those you have disagreement with does a disservice to the other reasons people have to attend.Keating wrote: ↑Sat Aug 04, 2018 3:27 pmI think pride marches have well passed their necessity of breaking the back of Christian intolerance, and are now doing more harm than good in most places. They should be ended. The only place where it seems to me they might still have a place if they were held in Muslim majority neighbourhoods. Can't do that, though. That would be racist.
And if they are to be ended the question is how. Governments already have the powers to stop just about any march or demonstration should they feel the need to. So you could vote in those with the will to put a stop to such things. Or you could start the modern equivalent of a Temperance League. But I'll not be standing with the wowsers on that one.
nb I'm speaking as someone who regularly does not attend Pride or St Patricks Day or Canivale or Fat Tuesday parades - so I don't really have a dog in this fight.

We had a Pride parade here in Nice yesterday. I didn't attend because I try to avoid large crowds these days.
But beside making the traffic a tad more difficult, there's nothing wrong with a Pride parade. After the past struggles they had to face, LGBTQs deserve it.

That's the point. No one cares anymore, so there is a segment that sees escalation as necessary, which is why you see furries and worse. There's something about rubbing Christians noses in it that won't be done to Muslims that I'm uncomfortable with. Treat people equally; don't refuse to rub your bare-arse in front of some people because you don't wish to offend them.
Re: Fuck off, Jamie!
The political aspect should be redundant, it’s like environmentalism in the built environment. It used to be a seperate thing to cultivate and hold conferences on etc. Now it is expected to be a standard part of any topic.Keating wrote: ↑ That's the point. In a way the need to hold aggressive in your face marches might be a positive thing. It demonstrates that atypical social units (outside the traditional community dynamic) do not (yet) hold equivalency with traditional forms.
On another note. I actually feel sorry for this NZ interviewer who felt like intellectual road kill after dealing with Southern and SM.
Re: Fuck off, Jamie!
I am currently researching the vexing issue of how the 8 deep classical Greek hoplite phalanx actually fought.
Critical questions include whether spears were wielded over or under handed, how the phalanx avoided falling over while advancing over slippery bodies, how amateur soldiers could maintain formation while charging 300 style across undulating terrain and what exactly did ranks 3-8 do with their spears given they couldn’t reach the enemy. And the eternal question. Was the Othismos (push) like a rugby scrum or was it something far more fluid.
Carry on.
There is quite the historic pit fight going on that would shame the energy expended here on ethnic-babes.

It would seem that you have some sympathy for the left's position that it is (or should be) inherently political to be gay. You may also wish to polish the 'let's you and him fight' rhetoric if you intend on selling it to the organisers of the next Pride event or Sydney Mardi Gras.Keating wrote: ↑ That's the point. Can you really not think of any other reason that people would want to attend such an event other than to rub it in the noses of whatever particular religious sect they (or you) want to piss off?

Yes it's childish, yes someone could get seriously hurt and yes technically they're breaking the law but I suspect what has motivated this along with the desire for YouTube clicks is they've probably had bikes stolen themselves and as usual the police don't want to know. Funnily enough, watching it did bring out the sadist in me and I was kind of hoping for blood and broken bones.
Fatty, bouncing down the road though, C'mon

Many good and hard working people rely on their bikes to get to work and just survive from day to day. Insane, violet, and hurtful people steal bikes without a thought in some areas. It is easy to dismiss bike theft as something trivial, but I think it is a bit more like someone stealing a cowboy's horse. This is a high crime in my opinion and I feel a sense of satisfaction at people being injured while committing this kind of crime.

I find these “I never felt the urge to grope a woman’s breasts” claims annoying and full of hypocrisy.
When will you hetero dudes stop pretending that your lust for women’s breasts is a natural and uncontrollable phenomenon when we absolutely know it’s not true?
Breasts haven’t always been and aren’t everywhere considered sexually attractive. For a long time they were exclusively considered signs of a cis woman’s ability to feed offspring. In many parts of the world women run around topless and nobody gives a rat’s ass because there tits are just that

A police officer phoned a charity to ask whether it was “culturally acceptable” for an Iraqi paedophile to have a 12-year-old girlfriend.
The detective had arrested the 26-year-old man but wanted to be “culturally sensitive” after the suspect said the relationship was acceptable in his community. Karma Nirvana, the charity that took the call, told the officer to deal with the man as he would any other suspected child abuser.
The charity, which works with victims of forced marriage, said that the case showed the danger of officers whose professional judgment was clouded by fear of being called racist.
The call log, shared with The Times, says that the policeman asked for advice because “the accused is stating that it is ‘completely acceptable in my culture to be with a 12-year-old’.” It says the officer “ ‘just wished to know if it is accepted in Iraqi culture to be with a 12-year-old girl’ as he wished to be ‘culturally sensitive’.”
The call adviser replied that no culture or religion could justify such abuse.
Jasvinder Sanghera, the charity’s founder, said there was an attitude of “turning a blind eye because of culture” within the police and councils.

Re: Fuck off, Jamie!
Pride marches are inherently political. That was their point. The idea arises out of Stonewall, 50 years ago. Sydney’s Mardi Gras is based on rebelling against police crack downs 40 years ago. All the goals of the movement have been achieved. It’s now got the same problem all political groups eventually get to after achieving their goals. They degenerate into parodies of themselves.
If it is going to remain in its current form, as a political statement, there is only one way that still makes sense: targeting the one major religion that has virulent anti-gay bigotry. Maybe they could toss themselves off Centrepoint Tower? You may also wish to polish the 'let's you and him fight' rhetoric if you intend on selling it to the organisers of the next Pride event or Sydney Mardi Gras.

3. I now own a battery powered angle grinder & if an abandoned-looking bike is sufficiently looted of parts... I chop the lock & rebuild the remaining bike. I rely on my own personal judgement, whether a bike is abandoned/ or simply missing one-or-2 parts... with an owner who intends to repair it.

Petty theft is annoying, I'll admit that. I've had plenty of small stuff taken from me and the feeling is always shitty. BUT, what these guys are doing is criminal. Two wrongs don't make a right. They're instigating serious accidents. Take another look at the very first fall. That's not fake. I broke a collar bone and punctured my lung in an accident not much more serious.ThreeFlangedJavis wrote: ↑No shit. why is that do you think? Perhaps because it is a milder manifestation of the conservative orderliness trait which ends up with the "unclean" being fed into ovens at the extreme.John D wrote: ↑Sun Aug 05, 2018 8:11 amHaha. These guys are doing a public service. My mom once chased a guy down our street who stole our bike. Fortunately the tires were not fully inflated and she caught him. He ran off while she screamed at him. Nice.
I think it would be better if these bike thieves had be shot or electrocuted or something like that... but... most people do not share my opinion on this.
I'll just say it: anyone who thinks these are justified needs some work done on their moral compass.

I do not want to see gays tossing themselves off in public.Keating wrote: ↑Pride marches are inherently political. That was their point. The idea arises out of Stonewall, 50 years ago.

If this succeeds, the humanities are past saving.

Things can occur for more than one reason. People can attend such events to have fun.Keating wrote: ↑Pride marches are inherently political. That was their point. They do not have have an obligation to put themselves in harms way just to make whatever political point you think they should be making.
