It used to be so simple. Firing lines were drawn and you used to know exactly where people stood. We used to have FTB, the identity politicians, the radical feminists, conservatives and fundamentalists -- the fainting couch brigade -- and it was never an issue to know where your allegiances truly lied. Now it's a crapshoot. I used to watch The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (almost religuously back in the early 2000's) and it was a breath of fresh air that he was actually willing to criticise both sides and he very much stressed the importance of facts, not feelings. Now it's apparently a show where they preach from the pulpit about the alleged dangers of white supremacy, anti-Asian bigotry and making feckless (and factless) value judgements about a mass shooter that he (Trevor Noah) knows (or his ghost writers know) has nothing to do with race.
When the fuck did Tucker Carlson become the voice of reason? When the fuck did Fox News become the news channel you go to to get your voice heard without getting yelled at, screamed at, lectured to or interrupted, because the other news channels actively try to silence you? Have we entered a new dimension where this is the new normal? Are we witnessing the shifting of the Overton window in real time?
Also, and this has nothing to do with the news, why the FUCK are prominent game developers (and voice actors for games) clustering together to, instead of endorsing and SUPPORTING another game and another game developer, try to have it CANCELLED by making a fucking PETITION to THE UNITED FUCKING NATIONS because they fear it's going to "inevitably breed a new generation of mass shooters" and "brainwash gamers that 'racism is ok'"? What the fuck is going on??? Have I demonstrated the diversity of the word 'fuck' yet?

Yeah. It is a challenge. Right now I am all in on stocks. So far it is working. Since interests rates are stupidly low and the Feds keep printing money... well... then stocks are the only good investment. Joe has not hurt my investments one bit.... at least not yet.
If interest rates go up or when inflation kicks in then I will completely bail out of stocks. I just keep watching for when this starts to happen.... and I have to make a switch before the big stock collapse. It will happen. Timing it is the key.

Worst accident I ever dealt with as a safety warden at Bristol Uni. Young woman dropped a Winchester (2.5l) of concentrated sulphuric acid. Win broke. Conc H2So4 is slippery as oil. She slipped, sat in acid and glass, lacerating her butt to fuckery and back. I had to drag her off by her hair, and wash her down under the super shower. Unfortunately, putting water on conc. H2SO4 creates a LOT of heat (as in boiling acid). She was REALLY badly scarred for life, but at least she was alive. It caused me nightmares for months, even though I saved her life. I hope she was happy I did...
Still haunts me.
Nowadays, wins of nasty chemicals are coated in PTFE covers. They may break when you drop them, but the consequences are way less.

Much of Jon Stewart's Daily Show popularity was due-to the homogenous insanity offered by mainstream news at the time. When Left and Right news sources both parroted 'Saddam Did 9/11 And Has WMD' talking-points, Jon Stewart's show felt like a sane breath of fresh air, to restore brain cells.
For me, in the days immediately-after Trump's inauguration, with the Pink Pussy Hat March on TV, Libertarian commentators became my new 'Daily Show'. Later, the pro- and anti- Trump sides both gathered & honed their talking-points. But in Trump's first days-- neither side had a grasp on what was to come-- and the 24/7 news & commentary cycle was nonstop talk, with a vacuum of substance. (The example which leaps to mind-- is NPR's This American Life becoming unlistenable, because of a series of segments consisting of Ira Glass with 'dreamer' immigrants: Do You Feel Terrified? "oh yes! we huddle together and cry in fear", followed by Ira Glass with govt global-warming bureaucrats: Do You Feel Terrified? "oh yes! we huddle together and cry in fear". And so it goes.)
Fast forward to now. Days ago, as Keating & Marcus discussed Jon Stewart, I was listening to a Reason Magazine editors' podcast.
The editors were discussing the Republicans' election-restriction bills currently in many state legislatures. The editors' commentary was useless, because they had previously, vigorously bent the knee on 2020 election irregularities, and 'the insurrection', and Trump in-general. The editors are now forced to dance-around an unspoken elephant in the room: the Republican election-restriction bills are a re-action to the 2020 election & the Dems' H.R. 1. When your entire commentary is all skirting-a-subject, you're worthless. (The editor in chief doesn't even vote or believe in voting, but she couldn't deviate from the Cathedral's bland homogeny of opinion.)
A week earlier, the same editors joined the chorus on 'anti-asian violence'-- bemoaning America's Long History Of Mistreatment Of Asian Immigrants, and joined the chorus-of-SILENCE that today's asian-bashers are overwhelmingly black ghetto psychos. So their commentary was vapid.
Reason magazine is also avidly in favor of Open Borders, for ideological reasons. So their take on Biden's Immigration Shitshow is "we could easily absorb an infinite number of immigrants with no problems at all", despite the problems exploding in our faces.
And so of course-- Reason is also weak on the Tech Giants fucking-with the public discourse and individual little-guy members of society.
So now I know there are 'beltway libertarians' like those employed by Reason magazine. And upstart libertarians like Dave Smith, Tom Woods. Just like there are spineless Republican party hacks (all too eager to throw Trump under the Dem bus). And a few Republicans with actual balls.

So it's not really about you-the-observer switching from blue-pills to red-pills. All the observer had to do was start the Game Clock when Jon Stewart made puffed-up righteous pronouncements... and Keep Score from that starting point, noticing when the Crusade failed to live up to it's ideals. The observer could still be saying 'I haven't changed my beliefs & I still believe in Jon Stewart's message' in 2021, if-only the messengers hadn't betrayed their own integrity.

Latest update on the Chauvin trial. Even if this trial is not of interest to you, Branca begins with an informative overview of how witness examination is conducted. Oh, and there's video the truculent witness who gets spanked by the judge -- and gets sassy with the judge!
One detail: Chauvin's attorney asked the firefighter-woman to confirm testimony she previously gave to investigators-- that she saw a stream of George Floyd's urine on the ground, and the urine was how she knew the police were killing Floyd; ...and furthermore she called-out to the arresting cops about the urine, to tell them they were killing Floyd.
Months ago, when I watched bodycam videos, I noticed that stream of liquid was already on the ground, before George Floyd was put on the ground. I think it dripped from the copcar's air conditioning. The car was left idling on that spot from the time the police first responded to the Cup Foods call about the counterfeit bills.
I wonder if the liquid will become an issue-- with Chauvin's defense pointing-out that the cops on the ground could see the liquid wasn't piss, so the crowd falsely complaining about Floyd pissing himself-- is evidence that the cops were dealing with a unreasonable, hostile, misguided crowd-- interfering in their kosher attempt to arrest Floyd-- and deliver medical aid to him.

That firefighter, who wore her uniform for no reason, was a petulant child. This is not an April Fools joke... Here's the current condition of the Burger King, still open!,
now with garbage monsters living in the doorway.
The govt houses homeless people in the Holiday Inn across the street.
I don't think Holiday Inn discloses that fact to normal people who book rooms there... they find-out on arrival.
DiBlasio (Not his real name) might have created the only new business in NYC. Where else in the world can you be gang-raped, stumble across the street to get a Whopper and Coke and gang-raped again?

GF is reading Yelp reviews of that Burger King:
One says the cashier "had clearly been crying", another said the cookie display had 1 cookie... and a half cookie with a bite out of it.
Another employee-- pouring a customer's drink-- dipped their hand into the cup and put some ice in their mouth. (Same reviewer said the bathroom was amazingly clean.)

I just listened to Branca's Day 3 & Day 4 analysis of the George Floyd/Officer Chauvin Trial.
The detail which most stood out to me-- was that, while cuffed & sitting, Floyd had kicked-out at the cops with both legs. In response, a cop was sent looking-for a leg-hobble device.
I speculate... this may be (yet another) way in-which Floyd may have sealed his own fate. <--That's because the restraining-method which was used on Floyd when he was laying on the street-- is the same restraining-method which was taught to MPD officers-- as the correct way to put-on leg hobbles.
It seems to me-- that cops who are thinking 'This guy needs to be in leg-hobbles' would also-think '...so let's put him in the leg-hobbling position'.
If Floyd hadn't kicked-at the cops, they might not have put him in that specific position which he couldn't tolerate.
(I'm not sayin' the defense will make this argument, or a jury would find it compelling. Only sayin' -I- find it plausible.)
